A member of the Toronto Film Critics Association and a lover of all cinema with the exception of Bollywood, Radheyan Simonpillai (or Rad as we like to call him) began contributing movie reviews to NOW in 2008. Born in Sri Lanka and raised in Scarborough, Rad earned an English degree and an M.A. in Cinema Studies, both from the University of Toronto, where he also taught a tutorial class on Film History. On top of his coverage for NOW, Rad also writes about movies for AskMen.com and works on the editorial team for the Canadian film industry trade magazines POV and Montage.
