Calling all Simpsons freaks: John Ortved’s written the book for you. The Simpsons: An Uncensored, Unauthorized History ($34.95, Greystone) mines interviews with writers, producers, network execs and other contributors to the show to chart the rise of TV’s longest-running comedy. Creator Matt Groening’s quotes are mostly culled from previously published interviews, and executive producer James L. Brooks is totally invisible. But Ortved will tell you that The Simpsons was never a one-man show. He hits the Gladstone Monday (November 9) as part of the This Is Not A Readings Series. See Readings.
