In politics, boys will be boys – or, in the case of the Rob Ford administration currently in free-fall over at 100 Queen West, grown men will be sucky babies.
A week after he spoke out against Rob Ford’s transit plans, Gary Webster’s days as the manager of the TTC appear to be numbered.
With the leadership of the TTC sharply divided over Toronto’s transit plans, the mayor is seeking a major shakeup of the commission’s board that would see a majority of its serving councillors replaced by unelected private citizens.
Everybody’s happy. That’s the message coming out of City Hall this morning, where council voted unanimously to approve a new contract with its outside workers union.
The Drummond Report, or rather the report of the Commission on the Reform of Ontario's Public Services, is finally out — a relief actually since Don Drummond, the former chief economist of the TD bank, has been issuing out such dire warnings and predictions of mass upheaval over the last number of months. You can read the report here.
