Caribou @ Opera House
A bona fide Canadian supergroup formed by Caribou
Toronto got a special sneak peak last night of what the folks at the All Tomorrow’s Parties festival will experience this weekend in New York.
2008 Polaris Prize winner Caribou debuted the Caribou Vibration Ensemble - a huge indie-psych orchestra featuring Kieran Hebden (Four Tet), Jeremy Greenspan (Junior Boys), Koushik, Ahmed Gallab (Sinkane), Kathryn Bint (One Little Plane), John Schmersal (Enon, Brainiac) and many others. This super-group was conceived specifically for ATP, and the space-jazz-rock-noise-bubblegum-ambient-experiment probably won’t ever perform again after this weekend, which makes those of us who managed to get in to the sold-out gig feel pretty darn special.
