Q: How much does a Classfied ad cost?
A: It depends on the type of ad that you are placing. For example, an apartment rental ad, one headline with two lines of text would cost $43.53, one headline with three lines of text would cost $54.43. Special discount sections like Rentals To Share and Musicians Wanted one headline with two lines of text costs only $19.98, each additional line is only $5.00.
While using NOW Classified, you can quickly check the price of your ad by clicking on the "price" tab on the upper right of the input box.
Q: How do I use NOW Classified?
NOW Classified works best with IE and Netscape for PC, and IE for Mac OS 9 and Safari for OSX. Please ensure that you have the latest Flash Player installed. You should see a blue box with a menu on the left and a picture of a woman seated in a red oval chair to the right. Also check that javascript is turned on in the options menu of your browser.
Q: Where can I get the latest Flash Player?
Just head to http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer/ and follow the download and installation instructions there.
Q: Do I have to register to use the NOW Classified? What are Cool Tools?
You don't have to register to use the NOW Classified. However registering for our Cool Tools is free and gives you access to the Ad Wallet, Email Alerts, and other helpful features when placing a classified ad and renewing them.
Q: I can't see the Classifieds! I think it's broken.
If you are having problems with the NOW Classified, please email us at web@nowtoronto.com and include the web address of the page, and describe what you see as well as your computer operating system and browser. The more details you provide, the better we can assist you.
Q: How can I search for an ad?
Simply click on the Search General Classifieds or Search Adult Classifieds to begin. Proceed by selecting the Category and Subcategory, (optional) and hit Go. You may also enter keywords to further filter your results.
Booking an ad online is easy. Just follow the six steps in the Place Or Renew an ad section. If you prefer to place your ad over the phone or require assistance please call 416-364-3444. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday from 9 am to 6 pm, Tuesdays until 7 pm.
There are a few ways to renew your ad - if you are already a member and have placed your ad while logged in, you can easily access all your previously placed ads by going to the "Place or Renew An Ad" section and selecting "Members Ad Renewal Options." Select the ad you wish to re-run and hit "Re-run this Ad." You can always edit the ad before re-running by entering your ad number under the "Ad Renewal Options" part of "Place or Renew an Ad."
Q: What is the Ad Wallet? What can I do with it?
When you register for the free Cool Tools you'll be able to log in and then save ads that you select in your Ad Wallet. This allows you to keep all ads of interest in one place and enables you to print them all off together or to email all ads to a friend (or yourself).
Q: Can I get notification for new ads? What are Email Alerts?
Yes you can get notification for new ads using the Email Alerts cool tool. To use Email Alerts, register for Cool Tools, or if you already have signed up, log in. Head to the Cool Tools section and under Email Alerts input the words that may appear in ads of interest. You'll be emailed whenever ads containing these words are placed in the system.
