Grant’s Family Reserve (whisky)
A weekly look at what’s on LCBO shelves

WHAT: Grant’s Family Reserve (whisky) Rating: NNNN

WHERE: Dufftown, Scotland

WHY: Haven’t single malts ever heard of computer dating? Of all the forms of drinking snobbery that endanger the planet, it is the widespread dismissal of blended Scotches that causes me to despair most. Yes, single malts are more individualistic and expressive, but you could say the same of street preachers. Grant’s, with its warm, creamy depth and bracing, briny, tangy finish, argues the point more eloquently than I can. Singles are truly a life-long study, but at this price, blends have more fun.

PRICE: 750 ml/$25.95

AVAILABILITY: At most liquor stores (product #31112)
