Farmers' markets have been sprouting up all over the place. Here's where to find your best fruits and veggies

Once a fringe back-to-the-land grassroots movement, farmers' markets are considered eco-conscious necessities now that the public demands to know the provenance of the food they consume. An asterisk indicates markets that have undergone a rigorous certification process by the Farmers Markets Ontario group.

That doesn't mean that the other markets are fakes. They just haven't gone through the certification process.

Either way, we advise that you ask vendors the names of their farms and whether they grow their own products. Questions are always good.

The article states "An asterisk indicates markets that have undergone a rigorous certification process by the Farmers Markets Ontario group." None of these markets have an asterisk. Is that a mistake or by design?
