Synopsis

Sex, cross-country skiing and art history turn a romantic ski holiday into a snowbound nightmare. When Dorothy's rich brother presents her with the gift of a free holiday at the Austrian ski resort, Tyrolia, she plans to use the vacation to stir-up some romance in her marriage. But Dorothy isn't the only one with a plan. In this snowbound comedy, desire, revenge and ideal beauty collide in a ski chalet from which there's no escape. Star playwright, director, theatre professor and co-founder of Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, Sky Gilbert, directs Tyrolia, Hope Thompson's first full-length play. Joining Sky and Hope is a star-studded cast that includes Moynan King, David Roche and David Tomlinson and two breakout young actors, Mark Koelsch and Brittany Wright. Incest, homosexuality and cannibalism are on the menu in Thompson’s campy look at five tortured souls trapped in a snowed-in Austrian chalet. Innuendos abound - the piece feels like it’s set in the 50s - and director Sky Gilbert gets heightened performances by his attractive, game cast.
