archive is turning five and making much of its birthday plans. Hundreds of artists — some represented by Archive, others on board as guests — agreed to make works that fit into a mylar bag, to be sold for $50.
Cool concept. But revealing the name of the artist while keeping the art invisible feels like a missed opportunity, and one that gets some priorities backwards. Still, the works will be revealed as they’re sold, so the show will improve with time.
