Body Blue marks its 20th birthday this weekend with a three-day sale from Friday to Sunday (October 23 to 25). That’s two decades since owner Sam Nirenberg surveyed the Danforth-and-Broadview neighbourhood and decided it was the right location to flex his denim expertise and open Toronto’s top jean shop.

The Shared T-shirt company, best known for its soft basics and for donating 50 per cent of its sales to charity, has been part of the city’s style scene for more than five years. The loft parties at its former studio on Dufferin are legendary, and its pop-up shop next to the Drake in the summer of 2008 teased the line’s fans with its two-month run.
