how NXNE works
The artist showcase component of this year's North By Northeast Festival And Conference takes place at various downtown clubs. For the most part, bands perform every hour on the hour, from 9 pm to 1 am Thursday through Saturday, with several exceptions. For comprehensive lists of participating artists, venues and specific set times, consult the complete schedule on pages 66, 72 and 78. Visit NOW 's Web site, www.nowtoronto.com, for further coverage and daily reports during the fest, or www.nxne.com, which offers more complete details and updated information.

Three-day festival wristbands are available for $22 at various locations including Soundscapes (572 College), Metropolis (162A Spadina), Edward's Record World (2283 Yonge), Kops (229 Queen West), CD Replay (523 Bloor West, 762 Yonge), Steve's Music (415 Queen West), I'm With Stupid (1300 Queen West), Black market Records (619 Queen West), Sound City Beaches (2138 Queen East), Revolutions (1105 Queen East), the Edge street-level studios (228 Yonge) and NOW Magazine (189 Church). You can also call 416-870-8000 or order online at www.ticketmaster.ca.

Three-day wristbands can be purchased at the door at all participating venues beginning Thursday evening. One-day wristbands are available for $15. For those not purchasing wristbands, each venue has a nightly cover charge of $5 to $10.
