Sapphic satisfaction
It's taken almost all of Pride's 25-year history to develop a consistent presence for dyke rockers. Check out these Dyke Day acts, representing both the old uh, we mean, experienced and the new.
Rough Trade
The iconic Carole Pope was the first to publicly cream her jeans over a same-sex high school girl crush on the radio. Though Pope has appeared solo many times at Pride, she and Kevan Staples bring Rough Trade's retro rock to the party for the first time in the event's 25-year history.
June 26, South Stage, 8 pm
Lesbians on Ecstasy
Hilarious and shockingly good Montreal electro-core darlings bring gutted and cranked-out Sapphic classics to dykeadelic dance floors with a certain je ne sais quoi.
June 26, South Stage, 7 pm
The Cliks
This local gritty garage pop posse, led by L. Silveira, is moving into the mainstream with their winsome melodies and tight low-end attack courtesy of new members (and T.O. scene vets) Morgan Doctor and Jordan B.
