Whether it’s a matter of Cadence Weapon having too many bloggers e-mail him that his Breaking Kayfabe album was a work of genius or wasting too much time touring with Final Fantasy, Afterparty Babies suggests that former Pitchfork writer Rollie Pemberton has lost the plot.
The boring beats and throwback rhyme flow (circa 92) – which is weak even by Edmontonian standards – put Afterparty Babies somewhere beneath Don Cash’s home demos and the outtakes from Organized Rhyme’s Huh? Stiffenin’ Against The Wall. Might want to rethink the launch of that Afterparty Babies fashion line.
