Pilotpriest

Pilotpriest (aka Anthony Burns) is part of the More Proof collective, who run a successful monthly party at the Drake and host a pretty decent music blog as well.

If you type his handle into Google, you’ll immediately find gushing blog praise for his pumping uptempo bootleg remixes, which are finding their way onto dance floors all over the world. His sound is contemporary enough to stand up against the current crop of club bangers but has a sense of history that keeps it from being completely disposable.

LABEL ACTION

He recently got signed to Calamity Jane, a new subdivision of legendary house label Strictly Rhythm that focuses on the electro and indie dance side of the club scene.

WHAT HE SOUNDS LIKE

“Every movie soundtrack I grew up loving, mashed into a basic stomping disco beat.”

WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN FOR TORONTO’S SCENE TO BLOW UP LARGE

“More smiles, less cocaine.”
