Chris Murphy
Stalwart pop rockers Sloan touch down at Virgin Fest Saturday (August 29) at the Molson Amp, despite bassist/singer/sometimes drummer Chris Murphy having broken his collarbone after a car collided with his bike (and then drove away!).
Luckily, the affable rocker has musical friends to fill in the non-singing gaps: Kevin Hilliard (Galore/Small Sins) and Sloan keyboardist Gregory MacDonald will handle bass, while Taylor Knox (Golden Dogs/Major Grange) will cover Murphy’s occasional drum duties.
“I finally had surgery and then recuperated in PEI,” Murphy tells us. “I’ve weened myself off Percocet and am ready to rock.”
