Did ya hear the one about the talented comics who were so funny they had to head south? Yup, it’s a familiar tale – and it’s happening again, this time to Holly Prazoff and Inessa Frantowski, two Sketchersons standouts who are leaving T.O. for L.A.
But before they decamp, the MTV Canada Yo Momma! winner (Prazoff) and Gemini Award winner (Frantowski) team up Wednesday (December 10) for a killer show at the Drake, where they’ll be joined by musical acts like Laura Barrett and the Bicycles and character comic Alana Johnston. See Comedy Listings.
So why L.A. and why now?
Prazoff: Why NOW…Magazine? Because it will promote the show!
When will the “brain drain” end?
Prazoff: When I won Yo Momma! Canada, I got $100. If you win in the U.S., you get $1,000. Do the math.
Frantowski: “Brain drain” sounds too negative. I prefer to call my brain my “smarts hat.”
Is your life there going to resemble The Hills, Entourage or Melrose Place?
Frantowski: I want to make love in a pool, so I’d have to say Melrose Place.
What celebrity do you plan to meet first?
Prazoff: John Lennon.
Frantowski: Glenn, are you going to tell her or should I?
Aren’t you going to miss winter?
Prazoff: Like I miss all my lost loves…rarely (gulp).
Frantowski: I’m bringing a snow globe.
How will the Sketchersons cope without you?
Prazoff: They won’t. I was the one with all the razzle-dazzle.
Frantowski: The Sketchersons will be at Comedy Bar tearing it up.
In five years’ time, who do you want to open for you?
Prazoff: John Lennon.
Frantowski: Oh god. I’m starting to really feel sorry for her.
