Watch Dinosaur Jr. play an in-store show at Sonic Boom – perhaps the biggest band to play the Bloor music store stop yet?
NDP leader Jack Layton announces he's been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Watch Layton, in his characteristically upbeat style, break the news to national media.
With few exceptions, diss songs have pretty much been the domain of hip-hop. Well, it would seem that the dudes in Toronto electro pop band Woodhands feel like indie rock could use a bit more hate, and have just released a no-holds-barred attack on the music blog heavyweight Pitchfork.
Not to be outdone by Adam Giambrone's party, NDP candidate for Davenport and NOW scribe Andrew Cash threw a bash of his own. This one featuring a meeting of the musicians for a Bob Dylan cover.
The waiting is over. Councillor Adam Giambrone signs on the dotted line and answers his critics as he makes it official this morning that he's running for mayor.
